Hi! I’m Lauren, graphic designer by day (visit my professional site here) and amateur cook, baker and ice cream maker by night. This blog is where I keep recipes created, altered or discovered—paired with illustrations by yours truly. Drawing food has always been a favorite pastime of mine, and now I’ve finally gotten my act together and gathered the results in one place. While I love graphic design, spending hours in front of a computer screen can be quite taxing, so in my free time I try to do things with my hands. This often means you can find me making a mess in the kitchen!

What is Minty's?
Minty’s is the name of a fictitious restaurant I created as a four-year-old. Whenever I cooked for my family as a child, I would insist that they dined at Minty’s. My sister would graciously play both the roles of maître d’ and waitress while I cooked in the kitchen. The very first dinner at Minty’s occurred the evening my mother came home from the hospital after my sister was born. My dad made angel hair pasta and pomodoro sauce—I most likely just stirred the sauce (since I probably wasn’t too much help in the kitchen!). Since then, Minty’s has flourished and followed us around the country. To this day, many birthdays and anniversaries continue to be celebrated at Minty’s.
